When we were asked to design a Wellness Space for this family, we wanted to create more than just a beautiful garden — we wanted to give them a retreat that truly supported their wellbeing. In their own words, the finished space was life-changing.
What was once an underused part of the garden has been transformed into a space of peace and tranquillity. Today, it’s not only a calming retreat for the family to enjoy but also a true showpiece within the garden. This case study reveals how thoughtful design turned an overlooked area into the heart of the landscape.
This garden once felt empty, with no focal point or warmth to draw people in. Through thoughtful design, it has become a cosy, inviting space — the kind of place where friends and family gather, laughter flows, and quiet moments can be enjoyed nestled in nature. A true transformation from overlooked to unforgettable.
This garden needed to provide easier access for a family member living with illness, but without feeling clinical or limited by function. The goal was to create a beautiful, welcoming space where the whole family could gather, relax, and make memories together — a garden that quietly solved practical challenges while putting joy, comfort, and togetherness at its heart.
What was once an overgrown, unused corner of the garden was actually hiding something special — a breath-taking coastal view. The vision was to uncover that gem and frame it beautifully, blending modern materials with natural charm. The result is a space to relax, feel connected to nature, and take in the stunning scenery every single day.
Like many new build front gardens, this space started off looking bare and uninspiring. Today, it’s been transformed into a welcoming spot full of character — a cosy place to sit among the planting, relax, and watch the neighbourhood go by. With its strong sense of community and a touch of New York sidewalk charm, this project shows how even the most standard spaces can be reimagined into something special.
